Gather your pictures.
Your photos need to be in digital format, 300 dpi or larger. If you need assistance preparing your pictures for your photo book, please contact us, we're happy to help you. Check our Products and Pricing page for more information on the services we offer.
Load your pictures on to your computer.
Use your camera's media card, a CD or DVD with your pictures. Create and name a folder to hold the pictures you will use in making your photo book. Select and Copy your pictures into your folder.
Close the folder.
Open Freeze Frame Photo Books Program
Open the program by clicking the icon on the desktop screen of your computer. Choose Create New Book to begin building a new photo book.
Select the size book you wish to create. (Our classic book is the first option that appears in the drop down menu box.)
Find your picture folder. Highlight it by left clicking your mouse. A blue box will surround your picture folder.
With your mouse arrow in the highlighted picture folder, left click your mouse button, hold the button, and drag the folder to the Image Browser at the bottom of the photo book program, release the button.
Your pictures will be located in the Image Browser as you build your book. You can add individual pictures also. To do this, find your picture, left click your mouse, hold the button, and drag the picture to the bottom row of the photo program, release the button.
Build Your Book.
There are five tabs above your pictures. You will move between these tabbed sections as you build your photo book. To open each tab simply click on its title. Move the blue scroll bar at the bottom of the screen to show all of the available options within each tabbed section. To do this left click and hold your mouse on the blue scroll b
ar and slide your mouse in the direction you wish to move.
To navigate the pages of your photo book, click the desired page in the Pages Browser at the top of your screen. You can also navigate using the navigation arrows located on the toolbar.
Proof Your Book.
Before you send your book for printing you have the option of performing a “preflight.” This function detects and alerts you to possible problem areas in your book. Preflight checks your photo book for missing captions, low resolution pictures, missing pages or frames.
Please review your photo book paying attention to any error messages you may receive. Also make sure you are satisfied with the page order, page layouts, and resolution quality. This is your final check on your photo book before it is printed. Freeze Frame Publishing does not edit or change your book in any manner.
You can find Preflight under the File tab on the top menu bar.
Select preflight… and a new window called Book Validation Report opens. The note at the top of the
page asks you to ‘please review your book validation results.’ A 'low resolution' message means that your picture has fewer pixels which can make the image appear grainy when it is printed. The lower the dpi listed next to the message, the grainier the printed picture will be. Depending upon how the picture is used on the page, you may wish to re-size the picture (make smaller) or remove it altogether.
When you are satisfied with your photo book, click the close button at the bottom of the window.
Send to FreezeFrame
When you are satisfied with your photo book, move your mouse arrow to the tool bar at the top of yourscreen. Select the Send to FreezeFrame button... we'll do the rest!
