Dam-to-Dam 2010 a HUGE Success!

The 4th Annual Dam-to-Dam Ice Fishing Tournament benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Newaygo County was a HUGE success!  Totals for the event are not yet complete but preliminary numbers suggest this is the biggest event thus far: 800 + fishing contest entrants; 2300 raffle tickets sold; more sponsors; more events and more prizes... and an official web site!

The "Dam She's Hot" contest took place on Friday night, February 12 at the newly re-opened Driftwood Bar and Grill on Croton Pond.  Twenty contestants vied for the coveted crown, too many to fit on the stage at once. Two rounds of competition culminated in the crowd selecting our reigning queen.

Contestants had to spell Leinenkugel's correctly (creative spellings included: B-E-E-R; G-O-O-D-N-E-S-S; and even "I can't spell it"), describe their perfect date which included a six-pack of Leinenkugel's, and demonstrate their sexiest cast.  The winner received bragging rights for one year plus a Leinenkugel jacket as well as a keep-sake plaque.

Outer Vibe entertained the packed house all night.

Fishermen, women and children began setting up "fish camp" early Saturday morning.  Prime real estate went  quickly. Parking anywhere near the ice went even quicker!

Fish were scarce this day.  Friends, Family, and Fun were in abundance.

Fishing awards and raffling prizes took place in the afternoon. Check back soon to view the virtual photo book of this year's events.

Leinenkugel and WLAV were again corporate sponsors of the event. Many local businesses were featured sponsors as well. Please visit the official web site for the most current listing of sponsors. Thank you Newaygo County and West Michigan for coming out and supporting such a worthwhile cause.

Please visit our facebook page to see more pictures of this year's event.  Send us your best shot of the tournament weekend for your chance to win some great prizes from Freeze Frame Publishing. For more details read the photo contest blog post. Please contact us if you are interested in purchasing copies of pictures or to purchase your own copy of the commemorative photo book.

See you on the ice in 2011!

2010 John Deere Day at Voelker Implement Sales!

Winter in several communities across the country can only mean one thing:  John Deere Day!

John Deere Day gives dealerships an opportunity to showcase new equipment, thank loyal customers, and welcome new customers into the John Deere family.

Voelker Implement Sales, Inc. of Big Rapids, Michigan held its annual John Deere Day on Saturday, February 6 at their dealership on Northland Dr. Voelker has been servicing John Deere customers since 1951.

The outside thermometer may have read "b-b-b-i-t-t-t-e-r cold," but the inside temperature was warm and inviting.  The Voelker Team served pancakes, sausage, ham, fruit, and several hot and cold beverages to a friendly, multi-generational crowd. John Deere Day has been a tradition for many local families.  Grandparents bought their grandchildren this day and recounted memories of their own grandparents bringing them.  This is quite a community event: friends, families and neighbors gathered around tables and tractors catching up on past events and planning  future events.

Freeze Frame Publishing was on hand to take a few pictures to commemorate the event.  A John Deere Day photo book is on display at Voelkers.  Thanks, Tim for inviting us!  The breakfast was great but participating in this event was even better!

Please visit our web site for information on how Freeze Frame Publishing can help you freeze time... and frame your memories forever!

We welcome your comments and suggestions.

Women's Expo 2009!

Wow! What a weekend! Thousands of West Michigan women converged on Devos Hall in Grand Rapids, March 13-15. Freeze Frame Publishing was one of hundreds of vendors showcasing products and services tailored to women.

We had the opportunity to demonstrate our photo book software to hundreds of women. We explained how Freeze Frame Publishing is different than many of the photo book companies with whom some have created products.

What is different about Freeze Frame Publishing?
1. One big distinction is that our software is available as a FREE download from our web site.

2. Our software resides on your computer's desktop.

3. Your digital pictures remain on your computer. You do not upload your pictures to a web site.

4. Each page of the photo book you create is completely customizable. You can change backgrounds as many time as you like; you can put captions anywhere you like; you can change fonts, font size and font color any time you like.

5. When you are ready to have your photo products printed, you can upload your photo book file directly to our digital printer in Grand Rapids, or, if high-speed internet is not available where you live, you can save your photo product file to a CD or other media device and mail it to us.

6. You have the option of paying by different methods: pay by check; pay by credit card.

7. Our software is very easy to use!

8. No internet access necessary! Since our software resides on your computer's desktop, you do not need internet access to 'frame your memories' with Freeze Frame Publishing.

We also had a drawing for a FREE classic photo book at the end of each day. The lucky winners this year are: Christine Flock, of Grand Rapids; Patty Bates, of Rockford; and Jenny Babler, of Lowell. Congratulations!

We invite you to download our software and give it a try! If you do not have high-speed internet access, request a disc and we'll send our software to you! Please visit our web site for more information on how Freeze Frame Publishing can help you freeze time and frame YOUR memories forever!

We welcome your comments and suggestions.

Dam to Dam Community Fundraiser Photo Book

It was a great weekend in Croton. The 3rd Annual Dam-to-Dam Ice Fishing Contest, a fund raising event to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Newaygo County, officially kicked off Friday evening, February 13. And what better way to kick off a dam-to-dam event than with a "Dam She's Hot" contest.

Just Jake, a West Michigan band, warmed the crowd at the Driftwood Bar and Grill, the official Pre-Party site for this year's event. Contestants waited nervously for their chance to win the coveted rights to be crowned the first Dam Queen. In addition to spelling Leinenkugal's correctly, contestants had to give their best impressions of fish being caught.

A contestant practicing for his/her turn to win the crowd over.

A queen was crowned. In addition to the sought-after title, our queen also received a plaque, a Leinenkugel's t-shirt, and a fur-lined parka.

Fishing for the biggest catch in several categories took place on all sections of Croton and Hardy Dams on Saturday, February 14. A little food, a little fun, and a few friends made for a perfect Valentine's Day for our participants.

Weigh-in took place at the Walter F. Howarth American Legion on Croton-Hardy Drive. Several fishermen-women-children waited in line with their catches.

First and second place awards were given in the adult and childrens divisions for several fish categories. After the awards, the raffle began. Local businesses and individuals donated many gift certificates and prizes. The raffle was complete with a little drama as emcee Tony Gates, from local radio station WLAV, spilled the tickets. Not to worry, Alex from Hilltop Shopping Center, and Michelle from Croton Bay Trading Post were there to retrieve the tickets.

Every last one of them!

Thank yous go out to WLAV and Leinenkugal's for sponsoring the event, along with the American Legion Post 381, Anderson's Screen Printing and Trophies, Croton Bay Trading Post, Driftwood Bar and Grill, and Hilltop Shopping Center. The Fremont Foundation will again match all monies raised.

Freeze Frame Publishing will once again donate photo books commemorating the event to all major sponsors. For a sneak peak, click here. The official photo book will be printed when all the monies raised have been counted. Watch this space for final details.

Thank you for visiting our site. You can download our software or if you have slow internet connection or no internet connection you can request a disc with our software on it. We invite you to give our software a try. We hope you will consider us the next time you freeze time and frame your community fund raising events forever!

We welcome your comments and suggestions.
