Graduation Thank You Cards and Bookmarks

Do you have a graduating senior in your home?  Do you know a graduating senior? Are you planning a celebration open house?  A special dinner? Lots of activities are coming for your senior.  Now is a good time to start thinking about thank-you cards or note cards!
Katie provided our sample.  She choose three of her graduation shots for the front of her 4" x 5.5" postcard.  She created a text box and colored it yellow.  Then she opened another text box and added her name.  The back of her post card has "Thank You" centered at the top.  She has plenty of room to write her thank-yous.  She can either mail the postcard, or enclose it in an envelope.
Katie also created bookmarks.  She plans on handing these out to her guests.  Nice job!

Freeze Frame Publishing's software for cards, post cards, calendars, and posters is every bit as customizable as our photo book software.  Pictures and captions can be added anywhere.  Font, font size, and font color can be customized, too.  There is also plenty of clip art available in the software.

Graduation is fast approaching for high school and college seniors. Graduations, like weddings, mark the end of one of life's chapters and the beginnings of new chapters.

The winter is a good time to begin planning for open houses and graduation parties. Here are a few posts that appeared in our blog in the spring of 2008.

Signature Photo Book

There's still time to make a Signature Photo Book for your graduate. Create this photo book with a few pictures and lots of room for signatures and words of wisdom for your graduate. Below are a few sample pages of a Signature Photo Book.

Remember to have colorful pens (Sharpie fine points work well) available for your guests to use as they leave their words of wisdom for the new graduate.

Perhaps you'd like to have a special page for the siblings of the graduate.

Enjoy the season. Enjoy the moments. You are creating new memories to share. Congratulations, graduates! Congratulations, parents!

Graduaton Photo Books: Part 4--One Last School Memory!

By now many of you have crossed that stage, received your coveted diplomas and are ready to take on the world! We all congratulate you. Your hard work and dedication have finally paid off. We have been encouraging you to take pictures of all of your graduation-related events. Now, what will you do with all of your pictures? Perhaps many of you have already posted your best shots on Facebook or another social networking site. And your friends have likely done the same.

The internet social networking sites make it easy to instantly share your photo memories with others in your group. That is great. With the proper equipment(large screen TVs, hand-held internet devices, etc.) many can view your site at the same time. Have you thought about where your pictures, your tangible memories, might be twenty years from now?

I read an article in the Grand Rapids Press recently written by Sarah Viren from the Houston Chronicle where she talks about several high schools in the Houston area doing away with yearbooks. Four national colleges have done the same. Social networking sites are cited as one of the reasons for the decline in popularity of the more traditional yearbooks.

That has me thinking about photo books and graduations and "holders" of memories. Social networking sites are marvelous for storing pictures and connecting and re-connecting with friends. But a printed book is also a good way of storing memories. A printed book does not rely on any technology. It is there for the holding.

Perhaps you can use the social networking sites to gather your pictures, select the best ones and build your own personal graduation photo book. Chances are some of your friends have some great shots. Uploading them to a social networking site ensures many "angles" of your shared memories!

Graduation Photo Books: Part 3

We've been talking about creating pre-big-day photo book pages to commemorate your special graduate. Have fun trying new layouts. The two-page layout below was made using a graduation announcement on both pages and topped with pictures of the outside and the inside of the announcement.
Our photo book program has many options making it easy to create a photo book just right to remember your special occasion. Go ahead; be adventurous with your page lay outs!

Enjoy the season... eat lots of good food... share lots of fond memories... take lots of new pictures.

Graduation Photo Books: Part 2

Commencements and graduation parties are happening all over. Be sure you have your camera ready... and your batteries charged! There will be plenty of opportunities to snap pictures of the graduates basking in their day.

Here is an example of a two page spread built before all of the festivities have occurred.

And two other examples.

Graduation Photo Book: Part 1

Graduation ceremonies are fast approaching. Now is a good time to take some still shots of your graduation accessories! Before the 'big day' why not scan your announcement, your open house invitation and your name card. And while you're at, don't forget to take a picture or two of your cap and gown (with or without the graduate in it!), any commemorative items you might have and your class ring. These pictures will make great back grounds for a Graduation Photo Book.
